Elections for the European Parliament 6-9 June 2024

Elections for the European Parliament will take place in the 27 EU countries from Thursday, 6 June to Sunday, 9 June 2024.

Dutch voters will choose their representatives for the next 5-year term of the body responsible for proposing and adopting EU legislation, scrutinizing the work of the European Commission, and negotiating international agreements.

The elections in each country will determine the composition of the new European Parliament, which will consist of 705 members, with each country allocated a specific number of seats based on its population.

The European Parliament is one of the three main institutions of the European Union, along with the European Council and the European Commission. It is directly elected by the citizens of the EU and represents their interests at the European level.
